Survey: Businesses Looking for Flexibility in Phone Systems
Business concerns about the effectiveness of their phone systems is a continuing issue, and a recent survey brought out some specifics.
NetworkWorld reported that a survey by Dimensional Research for RingCentral showed that 70% of companies with traditional on-premises phone systems believed their systems are lacking. Almost half (45%) of these companies said they want to further integrate mobile workers, devices and business apps with on-premises PBX.
In the survey, a sizeable number of IT managers noted concerns that on-premise PBXs lacked flexibility to serve the needs of mobile and remote workers (22%) and integrate with business apps such as CRM (23%). Some of the managers said on-premise systems were difficult to manage (23%), as well as too expensive (33%).
A high percentage of respondents, (92%) expressed a strong interest in cloud-based phone systems.
